The main power behind SMILE-Translations

Mag. Michaela Leithner, MA

Mag. Michaela Leithner, MA is the founder and CEO of SMILE-Translations Organisation GmbH. She is a highly qualified interpreter and translator, has studied at several universities in Europe, including the University of Vienna (Austria), the University of Leeds (UK), and the Universidad de Las Palmas, (Gran Canaria, Spain). She has more than 20 years of experience in this industry and has been organizing many teams for conferences, events, press conferences, and many other event types. One of her goals is that her listeners experience an event the same way listeners of the original language do. This high standard is decisive in her choice of interpreter colleagues for events. Another important goal is to understand the needs of her customers. Her role also includes guaranteeing a smooth operation of the event and clear communication amongst everybody involved.

Innovative solutions for virtual conferences

In April 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, SMILE-Translations’ management did absolutely everything to establish a platform for virtual conferences, which they had already been using for a year before the pandemic hit. This platform made video conferences in several languages possible by assigning interpreters to translate remotely from their own home. This innovative solution ensured that even in such challenging times, international communication of the highest quality remained possible.

Franz Harnacker

Franz Harnacker, co-founder and CFO of SMILE-Translations, is mainly responsible for the back office, as well as for finance and controlling. His many years of experience in graphic design, DTP, and printing provides each customer with valuable know-how in these fields. Due to his expertise, SMILE-Translations is able to provide not only high-quality translations, but also foreign-language layout and design. His in-depth training in communication, economics, and business administration makes it easy for him to understand the needs of SMILE-Translations’ customers from their perspectives, and to provide them with bespoke solutions.
